Meet the Cherish Family Chiropractic Team

Breann Matteson

Office Manager

Breann MattesonHey there! I’m Breann, Dr. Brandon’s wife. I wasn’t born in TN, but I was raised here in beautiful South Knoxville just across the Seymour line. This is home! Go Vols!!! LOL!

My journey with chiropractic began back in my childhood as a 10 year old girl. I had been a competitive gymnast for several years when I started to have very consistent, irritating back pain. My mom took me to her childhood chiropractor, Dr. Simmons, for my first adjustment. I felt so much better afterward! I was able to do my beloved gymnastics back pain free! From then on, my parents took me for regular adjustments to keep me going.

I met my wonderful husband and best friend at Johnson Bible College (Johnson University) in 2004. It wasn’t love at first sight for me, but he grew on me! We married in 2005. We both finished up school and graduated in 2007. We served at a church in Farragut for 5 1/2 years; then we moved to northeastern Ohio to serve at a church for almost 5 years.

During that time, I struggled with infertility, Lyme disease, mold toxicity, Hashimoto’s, brain fog, food/chemical allergies, severe inflammation, and whole body eczema flare ups. The traditional medical model just kept trying to throw steroids at it which were just a bandaid for my symptoms and not getting to the root cause of anything that I was dealing with. Being the research nerd that I am, I became my own advocate and started leaving no stone unturned to find something that would help. I accidentally (divinely) discovered neurologically-focused chiropractic care. That is where things started to change, and I started my healing journey!

The focus on the functioning of my nervous system was the root that I needed to initiate the body’s God-given healing processes! Without neurologically-focused chiropractic care, none of the other treatments that came after would have been near as effective.

Fast forward several years and here I am: wife to my phenomenal husband for 19 years, mom to 6 (and counting) wonderful blessings, Lyme free, mold free, brain fog free, significantly reduced allergies, inflammation free, and minimal eczema flare ups! I’m still on a healing journey, but neurologically-focused chiropractic care is such an integral piece.

Shannon Hawkins

Care Advocate

Shannon HawkinsHey! I’m Shannon! I wasn’t born in Tennessee, but I’ve lived in Knoxville most of my life, so it definitely feels like home!

My journey with Cherish Family Chiropractic started when I was pregnant with our son. As a first-time mom, I was dealing with all the unknowns that come with pregnancy, and the team at Cherish made such a difference. They supported me, encouraged me, and helped me feel so much more confident as I got closer to delivery. I left every appointment feeling better, physically and emotionally!

I met my husband back in high school, and we’ve been together ever since. We got married in the summer of 2022 and had our sweet boy in December 2023. Being a mom has been the greatest blessing, and I am so thankful for the family we have built. In my free time, I love going to the farmers market with friends, watching movies with my family, and getting outside whenever the weather is nice. I’m also currently pursuing a degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Johnson University and will wrap up in May 2025. I’ve always had a heart for walking alongside people in whatever season they’re in. That’s what the team at Cherish did for me, and now I get to do the same for others, which is such a gift.

I love Jesus and my biggest desire is to serve Him by loving people well. Chiropractic care has been a key part of my own health journey, and I’m so thankful I get to be part of a team that truly cares for the whole person.

Lexie Garner

Care Advocate

Lexie GarnerHey everyone! My name is Lexie and I am from here in Seymour. I moved several times throughout my childhood, but I have lived in Seymour for the past 11 years, so this is where I call home.

I heard about Cherish Family Chiropractic through my sister, Morgan McCoy which owns Studio 45:11 here in Seymour as well! I was so excited to hear about Dr. Brandon and his office since it was so close to me. Since meeting him and his family, I have grown to love each and every one of them. The opportunity to work here has been such a blessing to me!

Other than work, I spend my time working on school. I currently go to King University Online, studying Psychology. I was a Nutrition major for the past three years but changed when I moved to King, so with that being said, I love to eat, cook, and talk about food and health! I also love spending quality time with my friends and family, doing pilates, running, reading, and of course, shopping.

With my background in Nutrition and studying Psychology, my goal is to just help and encourage individuals feel their best. Along with that, my true passion in life is to love others as Jesus does. Many times I fail, but I try my best to love and care for those around me. I am so excited to meet all the faces that come through the office and pour out to my community!

Kelly Presnell

Care Advocate

Kelly PresnellHi! My name is Kelly Presnell. I grew up in South Knoxville just across from the Seymour line, but I have lived in Seymour since 2001. Seymour is my favorite place, and I could not imagine living anywhere else.

I received my bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and started my career at a pediatric doctor’s office in Knoxville. I acquired much knowledge about health and development during college and at my first job, but I have truly learned the most “on the job” as a stay-at-home mom of six kids and now two grandkids. With my nursing background, I am well trained in a holistic approach to healthcare, and I believe chiropractic care plays a significant role in achieving optimum health, vitality, and disease prevention.

I have been married to my husband for 33 years and my youngest is now in high school. Using my background in healthcare, my life experience as a mom of six, and most importantly my desire to follow Jesus, I now feel called to serve and love others in this wonderful Seymour community. I look forward to getting to know our patients and their families on a personal level and improving their lives anyway I can.
